The June 2026 street feeding mission, organized by SFA Church’s PIHD Franciscan Street Mission, was successfully carried out yesterday at Anjung Singah, KL.reaching out to the homeless.
The outreach team was made up of 3 Franciscan Brothers, 20 SFA altar servers, and parents, who worked together to serve warm packed meals to around 100 homeless individuals gathered at the distribution point. With clear weather, the team began with an opening prayer at 8:30 PM, thanking God for the opportunity to serve, then proceeded to distribute food and clothing while offering a word of kindness.
The Altar servers also walked into nearby streets to hand out food to those who were unable to come to the Anjung Singah distribution point. This gave them first-hand experience of reaching out to the less fortunate and a chance to interact with individuals living in different circumstances.
Beyond the meals and clothing, the volunteers took time to greet and engage with recipients, offering warm companionship and recognizing the dignity of each person they met. These simple encounters reflected the Franciscan call to serve with humility and to encounter Christ among the poor and marginalized.
The mission is part of SFA Church’s ongoing commitment to be a missionary Church, bringing the love and mercy of Christ to those most in need. Special thanks to the courageous altar servers, parents, and Franciscan Brothers who generously gave their time and effort to make this outreach possible.
