A child’s First Holy Communion is a significant milestone in their faith journey, marking the moment they receive the Eucharist for the first time and are welcomed more fully into the life of the Church.

On 31st October, 2026, we saw 22 children from the English, Chinese apostolate and Assisi Beloved Community (ABC) of St Francis Assisi prepare for this momentous day after months of learning about their faith, the meaning of sacraments, and the real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the bread and wine. The children, dressed in their special white clothing-symbolizing purity and new life in Christ, participated in the liturgy by reading and bringing gifts to the altar.

Surrounded by parents, godparents, relatives and the entire congregation, the child approaches the altar with reverence and receives the Eucharist, a moment that parents and catechists hope will plant the seeds of a lifelong relationship with our loving living almighty God!
