NOVEMBER IS DEDICATED TO THE SOULS IN PURGATORY
Praying for the dead is one of the Spiritual Works of Mercy. Saint Pope John Paul II stressed the need to pray for the souls in Purgatory at several points throughout his papacy.
My Jesus, by the sorrows Thou didst suffer in Thine agony in the Garden, in Thy scourging and crowning with thorns, in the way to Calvary, in Thy crucifixion and death, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory, and especially on those that are most forsaken; do Thou deliver them from the dire torments they endure, Amen 🙏🌷❤
Let us pray for the departed souls, souls of the unborn children, souls no one pray for during the Eucharistic Adoration by focusing on the presence of Christ Jesus and praying for their purification in Purgatory and eventual entry into heaven. This devotionally powerful time can be used for prayers, hymns, contemplation and unite all these with Christ's sacrifice for the living and the dead.
