Franciscan Saint | Blessed Maria Costanza Panas

Born in Alano di Piave, Italy, Blessed Maria Costanza Panas was cared for by her priest uncle after her parents emigrated to the United States. She worked as a teacher before entering the Fabriano monastery of the Order of Saint Clare in 1917.

Elected abbess, she led the community for sixteen years and was known for her wise counsel, guiding many, including priests.

Afflicted with severe, prolonged illnesses, including debilitating arthritis that left her bedridden for the last three years, she offered her suffering for the Church with patience and faith.

Reflection: In what ways can I listen more deeply to others and offer wise counsel?
