St. Colette of Corbie was a French Franciscan reformer known for renewing the spiritual life of religious communities during a time of decline in the Church. Born in Corbie, France, she was orphaned at a young age and later embraced the Franciscan Third Order Rule at age 21 and lived as an anchoress, dedicating herself to prayer and penance in a small enclosed cell connected to a church.

After four years, she joined the Poor Clares, restoring the original Rule of St. Clare in the 17 monasteries she founded. Her communities became known for their radical poverty, rejecting fixed income, and for their spirit of continual fasting. Her reform spread across countries and continues to flourish today. Saint Colette was canonised in 1807, and her feast day is celebrated on March 6.
