Conrad of Parzham was born in 1818 into a wealthy farming family in Parzham and was noted for his piety from a young age. After his parents’ death, at the age of 31, he gave his inheritance to the poor and entered the Capuchin Order as a lay brother.

He spent over forty years serving as the porter at the Capuchin monastery in Altötting, welcoming pilgrims, assisting the poor, and patiently listening to those seeking guidance or comfort. Though his duties were simple, he carried them out with humility, kindness, and unwavering faith. Known for his deep prayer life, he was also believed to possess the gifts of prophecy and the ability to read hearts. His life reminds us that true holiness is often found in faithful, humble service in everyday life.

Reflection: In what ways is God inviting me to grow in humility and service to others?
