Almsgiving traditionally points to the practice of giving food or monetary assistance to those less fortunate around us. It is a strongly Catholic value that should be carried throughout families as a way to not just teach children the importance of loving your neighbour, but to instil a sense of generosity within them.
On Day 22 of our 40 Day Reflection, Fiona Biggs speaks to us about teaching our children about almsgiving, and how we can start this practice from home. We are reminded to spend some time with our children to teach them the value of giving, and help them come up with an almsgiving initiative they can do this Lenten season.
