In conjunction with Merdeka Day, BECCOT, in collaboration with the Catechetical Ministry, Creation Justice Ministry (CJM), and Health & Wellness Ministry (HWM), organised an Art & Craft Competition using recycled materials.
The theme was: “United in Faith • United in Our BEC Community • Caring for God’s Creation.”
We celebrated Merdeka together by gathering our children and parents at the covered car park, proudly holding the Malaysian flags. We sang our National Anthem, “Negaraku,” followed by “Tanggal 31.”
We were also blessed by a beautiful Bahasa Malaysia poem recitation by Daniel from the ABC Ministry.
Our Parish Priest, Fr Paul Cheong, shared an inspiring message on the importance of unity, mutual respect for different religions and cultures, and living together as one Malaysian community. He reminded us to be proud of being Malaysians and to continue building a nation filled with peace, respect and harmony.
The celebration continued with the prize-giving ceremony, where Fr Paul Cheong presented prizes to the winners of the Art & Craft Competition.
Congratulations to all the children who participated and won prizes! A special appreciation to all the parents who lovingly supported and helped their children create their beautiful recycled-art projects.
Let us continue to stay united in faith, care for God’s creation, support our BEC community, and stand together as one proud Malaysian family.
