𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭
The heart of Jesus ethics is the imitation of God and the name of our God is Mercy. Pope Francis too says, “The Church exists for mission”. CCC 1324 states: The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." And we believe we become what we eat.
When we receive Jesus in Holy Communion, we are transformed spiritually since we become what we eat. As EMHC, we are heeding CCC 1324 and CCC358; “man in turn was created to serve and love God and to offer all creation back to him” when we bring Holy Communion to the sick, the home bound to ensure that no one is deprived of their spiritual consolation. Lastly, we are simply just playing our part as Jesus’ instrument, to “shine to the world” when we offer simple gestures like a smile to everyone regardless age, race, religion, gender and abilities. For the Gospel of Christ is simply about Sharing, Compassion and Social Outreach.
How can then we be consistent to follow and imitate Jesus to bring God’s love and mercy to everyone? Pray, especially in front of the Tabernacle in church where Jesus is. Pray as a family, eat as a family. A family that prays and eats together grows and stays together.
