Jubilee of Artists: Glorifying God through Works of Art

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, SFA Church celebrated the Jubilee of Artists, a landmark event for our church that brought together 𝟮𝟴 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 from across Malaysia for the first time. These artists, representing diverse disciplines including painting, sculpting, drawing, and various arts and crafts, showcased their God-given talents. The event recognized the profound contributions of these artists, whose works serve as artistic expressions of beauty found in God’s creations, our faith, and a means of glorifying God.

The Jubilee of Artists was thoughtfully planned to inspire and celebrate the talents of these individuals. The day began with a warm 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 & 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 session, where artists connected with Fr. Paul. This was followed by a spirit-filled 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 & 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 session led by the SFA CCR Team. Several artists shared their inspiring 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀, highlighting how their faith shaped their art and creative direction.

𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 continued over lunch, followed by 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 from talented individuals and a 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗿. A central feature of the event was an 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 showcasing nearly 100 works from all 28 artists. Participants also engaged in 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀, deepening their understanding of the connection between faith and artistry.

The spiritual highlight of the day was the opportunity to receive 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Participants were encouraged to partake in the 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, attend 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀, and 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿, reinforcing that true creativity stems from a heart rooted in Christ.
