Blessed Bernard of Offida was born into a humble peasant family and began working as a shepherd at the age of seven. Long hours in solitude on the hills nurtured his deep love for prayer and meditation. Drawn to God from an early age, he often spent entire Sundays in the Capuchin church of Offida in prayer and fasting. He entered the Capuchin novitiate in 1626 at the age of 22. Though illiterate, he became deeply versed in Scripture and widely known for his deep spiritual ins
